Rock climbing

On Saturday evening, we all went to the Barton Creek Greenbelt to go rock climbing with some friends from our ward. Janessa had planned on coming just to watch, but once we got there she couldn't resist and had to join in on the fun. You can see her climbing in the picture to the left.

Cooper loves being outside, so he had a blast exploring and playing around with rocks and dirt. Also, Jenn and Stephen brought along their dog, Bosley. Cooper really likes Bosley, as you can tell from the image on the right.

If you want to see more from our adventure, take a look through our photo album, where we've posted a few more pictures.

Cooper's first birthday!

Cooper turned one year old on July 18, 2006. We celebrated early at the Harden's over the fourth of July weekend and then celebrated again with some friends of ours at a local park and swimming pool in Austin. Cooper had fun in both places - wearing party hats, opening presents, and of course getting messy while eating his birthday cake. We can't believe how fast the year has gone and how fast our little guy has grown! Happy Birthday, Cooper!

Cooper's first haircut!

Mom and Dad finally broke down and decided to cut some of Cooper's precious blonde hair. He had a nice tuft of hair in the back that just had to go. Cooper was very cooperative and we were all pleased with the results. He's just such a handsome little man!

Here are the before and after pictures:

Cooper's walking!

At about 10 months old, Cooper got serious about walking like the big people do. He enjoyed pushing around his toy walker and taking wobbly steps between mom and dad. In just a couple weeks he insisted on walking on his own. He is completely mobile now (and FAST too) and loves to give his mom the run-around. He is growing so fast and is more fun every day. Some of his favorite games include hide-and-seek and chase with anyone who will play along. The fun words "I'm gonna getcha" will get him going anytime. Now we're approaching his first birthday and he's defintely becoming a big boy!

Jeffrey comes to visit

Jeffrey came out to visit for a week and a half. It was a lot of fun to spend time with him. While he was here, we went and saw the bats underneath the bridge at Congress, spent the day at Schlitterbahn waterpark, and visited several of the local pools. I also took him with me to play racquetball on campus a couple of times, and we tried to (unsuccessfully) fix a stereo.

It was hard to ever get Jeffrey to even let us take a picture of him while he was here, but we managed to get a few, and he even smiled in this one!
